About Me

Educational History:

Tascosa High School—1997

West Texas A&M University—2011

Univeristy of Texas of the Permian Basin—2015

Current Position:

I started teaching in Bushland in 2017.  I taught Theater Arts for two years, directing shows like The Importance of Being Earnest and Grease.  As much as I loved directing plays, my passion is teaching English.  This year, I am teaching English 1 and 2, as well as sponsoring the yearbook.  I love being in Bushland and am grateful for the support of the parents and administration.

Previous Position:

Before Bushland, I worked for Miami ISD.  Miami is a small district about 80 miles northeast of Amarillo.  I taught English 1-4, Speech, and Theater for 4 years before becoming the Principal in Miami.  I enjoyed my time in Miami and am thankful for the experience I gained out there.

Family Information:

I have been married to my wife Chantil for 6 years, but we have been together for 9 years.  We have a son, Shain, who is in 3rd grade here in Bushland.  I also have 2 older boys. Hayden is in 8th grade at Hereford Jr. High, and Erich is a Living Well Manager with United Supermarkets.

Personal Information:

I love reading, though there is never enough time for it.  I also enjoy Texas Rangers and Amarillo Sod Poodles Baseball. I have recently taken up sewing thanks to COVID-19.  My projects include aprons, masks, quilts, and clocks.  Also thanks to COVID-19 I was able to read several books this summer, which made me very happy.
