I graduated from Amarillo High School in 1988 which at that time was the first class to graduate outdoors at Dick Bivins Stadium. I attended Amarillo College, Texas Tech University and graduted from Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas in 1998.
I have a Bachelors Degree in Exercise Sport Sciences from SWT. I am certified in Health, Physical Education and Special Education.
This is my first year at Bushland High School. This will be my 22nd year teaching and coaching in the great state of Texas. I have coached in every region in the state and have coached classifications 2A-6A. I have coached HS Football, HS Girls Basketball, HS Baseball, HS Softball, HS Girls Soccer, HS Volleyball, JH Football, JH Boys Basketball and JH Track. The last 10 years, I have taught in the Special Education world and just feel like I am called to that content area.
I started teaching in the Spring of 1998 as a 4th grade elementary teacher in Schertz, Texas as a temporary teaching position. After that semester, I started my teaching and coaching career at Corbett Junior HIgh in Schertz, Texas. Prior to coming to Bushland, I was the Head Softball coach at La Vernia High School in La Vernia, Texas. While finishing up college at SWT, I worked for 2 years as a Supervisor at Marbridge Ranch in Manchaca, Texas. This faciltity was for special needs population ages 16-100. We took residents to University of Texas functions and taught them basic life skills need to be successful in their daily lives.
